Privacy notice
How this preview site handles personal data. When the publisher’s production platform launches, its privacy statement will supersede processing tied to manuscript workflow, analytics, and payments.
Who we are
The Journal of British Economics editorial project (the “journal”) operates this website for informational and contact purposes pending full publisher integration.
What we collect
- Contact form: Name, email, subject, message text, and chosen topic. Messages are logged on the application server for triage and may be forwarded to editorial or publisher staff.
- Submission portal: Manuscript metadata, email, and uploaded files as described on the Submit page.
- Technical data: Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) may be retained briefly for security.
Lawful basis
We process contact and submission data to take steps at your request before entering a contract (article consideration) or for legitimate interests in running a scholarly journal (responding to enquiries, maintaining integrity records).
Retention
Editorial correspondence is kept long enough to support decisions, audits, and ethics investigations—typically several years after a case closes, aligned with publisher policy once adopted.
Your rights (UK / EEA)
Where applicable you may request access, correction, restriction, or erasure of personal data, subject to editorial and legal exceptions (for example, preserving peer-review records). Use the contact form with a clear subject line.
Third parties
Hosting, email delivery, and the future manuscript system may sit with processors under contract. The Library page loads external headlines only; clicking them leaves this site.
